Disneyland Resort (Anaheim, CA) welcomed its one billionth guest on July 3, 2026, a cumulative milestone reached in the middle of the resort’s 70th anniversary celebration. It is a count few theme parks in the world can claim, and it lands 70 years after Disneyland opened its gates on July 17, 1955.
The Billionth Guest
The honorary billionth guest was Andres Robles, an 8-year-old from Arizona visiting the park on his birthday with his parents, Alejandra and Jose Robles. The family did not know they had been selected. Disneyland invited them to a brief ceremony on the Main Street, U.S.A. train station platform, where, alongside Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, they helped unveil an updated station sign reading “Population 1,000,000,000.” The Robles family then spent the day with a VIP tour guide, including a visit to Walt Disney’s private apartment and a ride on the newly opened Soarin’ Across America.
Seventy Years of Attendance
The billion figure is a lifetime total, not an annual one, accumulated since the park opened in 1955. In that time Disneyland Resort has grown from a single park in Anaheim into two theme parks, three hotels, and the Downtown Disney District, and it became the template for every Disney park that followed. The milestone is a reminder of how durable the resort’s attendance base is, even as the wider industry navigates softer regional demand.
“Welcoming our one billionth guest is a remarkable milestone for Disneyland Resort and a testament to the generations of guests who have made this special place part of their lives,” said Jill Estorino, President, Disneyland Resort. She said Walt’s original park has been “a timeless symbol of Disney storytelling” for more than 70 years.
