Dead Man's Party Halloween stage show at Six Flags Great Adventure

Six Flags Great Adventure (Jackson, NJ) is bringing back Dead Man’s Party, the live broadway-style dance show, for the 2026 Fright Fest season after a one-year absence in 2025. The park announced the return on April 30 in a corporate press release and a blog post on the Six Flags website.

The popular production, hosted by “Dr. Fright,” debuted at the park in 1999 and ran annually through Fright Fest until it was dropped from the 2025 lineup. Its return marks the show’s 25th year at Great Adventure.

About the Show

Dead Man’s Party combines live music, choreography, and pyrotechnic effects in what Six Flags describes as a “rock concert-meets-Broadway-style spectacle.” The production is hosted by Dr. Fright and a cast of undead friends who, per the company, take over the stage with high-energy performances and dance numbers across Fright Fest nights. Six Flags says the show is “designed to be more fun than frightening,” a framing that has positioned it as a broader-audience programming element alongside Fright Fest’s haunted houses and scare zones.

“Over the past 25 years, Dead Man’s Party has become a signature part of the park’s fall entertainment lineup, combining live performance with the spooky atmosphere of Fright Fest,” Six Flags said in the press release. The company also noted that the show “became a coveted role for professional dancers from coast to coast, and has helped launch many into successful performance careers.”

A Fan Favorite

The Six Flags Facebook reel announcing the return drew dozens of enthusiastic comments thanking the park for listening, with multiple fans calling out that they had specifically missed the show in 2025. “I don’t do any of the scary things at Fright Fest, so I really missed this fun show last year,” one commenter wrote, capturing the casual-guest segment the show has historically served.

Event dates and ticketing

Six Flags has not yet announced the 2026 Fright Fest schedule, ticket pricing, or the broader entertainment lineup. The company said additional details will follow closer to the season. For more information, visit sixflags.com/greatadventure.

What This Means for the Industry (Analysis)

Since their merger with Cedar Fair, Six Flags has been going through a roller coaster of changes. The new CEO, John Reilly, recently restored park presidents to 10 Six Flags properties and suggested the parks would focus more on local and live entertainment. The return of Dead Man’s Party seems to be the first of (hopefully many) live entertainment announcements.

Bringing back live entertainment that’s popular with fans is good. Not just for the teens who like spooky things, but for the entire family. As we’ve discussed in Six Flags: A New CEO, a Familiar Problem, the move hits two of the themes from this year’s TEA panel on regional-park programming: lean into local-attachment offerings, and program for the family-friendly side of the seasonal calendar, not just the haunted-house enthusiasts.
