Paramount Pictures is partnering with BBC Studios and ITV Studios in the development of The London Resort, a global destination theme park with a planned opening in 2024. Paramount is responsible for blockbuster films like The Godfather, The Italian Job, the Mission: Impossible series and A Quiet Place and will be co-branding with The London Resort.
The newly appointed Chief Executive of London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH), PY Gerbeau, stated, “The new partnership with Paramount is fantastic news for everyone. The best of Hollywood will be joining the best of British cinema from BBC Studios and ITV Studios to create amazing and unique experiences for the whole family.” The London Resort will feature a range of innovative experiences under one roof.
Construction of the resort will create thousands of jobs and, once it’s open, it’s expected to be a major regional contributor to the UK economy. The attraction, which will be located on over 535 acres on the Swanscombe Peninsula, Kent, just 20 minutes from London, will include 200 acres of rides and experiences and an entertainment district containing a full suite of hospitality experiences and thousands of hotel rooms. The London Resort is anticipated to be one of the largest construction projects in Europe, with projections that it will be among the most-visited tourist attractions on the continent.
