Triotech, a developer of multisensory, interactive 3D rides, attractions, media-based rides, and ride simulators for the leisure and attractions industry, has launched its first XD dark ride interactive theatre at the Granby Zoo, one of Quebec’s major tourist destinations. The 7D theatre has become one of the most popular attractions at the Zoo, which features 11 rides. The XD dark ride theatre, which is one of the Zoo’s 11 rides, is currently showing Carnival, the latest film from Triotech’s studios.
In Carnival, a revenge-seeking clown holds players prisoner in a run-down theme park. Players encounter scary automatons, giant heads, and other terrifying creatures as they try to escape the nightmare. Eight people are able to play and simultaneously experience the intense, multisensory adventure that features leading-edge technology and special effects.
Christian Martin, Triotech’s vice-president of marketing, said the new attraction was designed for the whole family. This attraction won the IAABA Brass Ring award in the Best New Product category.
Samuel Grenier, Granby Zoo’s director of operations, added, “Our 7D theatre provides our customers with an unparalleled immersive experience.”
The Granby Zoo (Le Zoo de Granby) is one of Quebec’s major tourist attractions. It was founded in 1953 by the mayor of Granby at the time, Pierre-Horace Boivin. It currently houses more than 1,000 different animals and 200 species from Africa, Asia, and South America.
